While many polls would say that Optimus Prime is the most popular Transformers character ever, many others would say that the honour falls on the diminutive character of Bumblebee, who reallly captured the hearts and minds of fans. Through the original cartoon series and toys, to the animated movie, comics, video games, collectibles and live action movies, Bumblebee has proven himself to be big hit with fans young and old.

This is probably down to the fact that Bumblebee never comes across as a macho hero, or a character that thinks he's all that. He's a hero, for sure, but he never stops being an appealing character with a sweet, childlike nature that many fans have latched onto for years.

It says something about the strength of a character to remain popular with fans for so very long, but Bumblebee, with his yellow colour and slightly clumsy nature, is a hero we can all relate to.
